The Edmonton Book Store opened in 1978, selling school textbooks from a small store near Victoria School in North Edmonton.

After several moves, the store re-opened at the University of Alberta campus in HUB mall, where the focus shifted to buying and selling university texts. Three further moves brought the store to its present location on Whyte Avenue.

Since 1992, the Edmonton Book Store has operated under the ownership of Barb Ellis. During this time the diverse inventory has expanded to over 80,000 volumes. We now list over 20,000 books in various online catologues.
